Originally 1 of 3 hotels on what was once “Skid Row” of Bald Knob. “Skid Row” was a famous strip of bars, brothels, and boarding houses in the area around 1920 to about the 1970’s. Based on information from the locals, the hotels were built in 1910 and was the place to stay while in town. These hotels were notorious for prostitution and hide-outs for passing through criminals. Several fights were known to break out not only at the hotels, but everywhere else in town. Even the barber shop, as a local described.
Currently this property is mostly demolished and gutted. The Arkansas Traveler Hobbies, a train station museum across the street, purchased the old building in hopes to renovate it. However, a project like this will cost a lot of money due to the structure collapsing, and not up to current code.
